The Department of Music presents the performing 鈥淶OFO-MOMA.鈥 The ZOFO-MOMA Live Concert Experience unfolds as an aurally and visually stunning walking tour through a virtual museum of modern art. Against an ever-changing backdrop of contemporary paintings, 15 new ZOFO-commissioned duet compositions are revealed throughout the 72-minute continuous performance. One of the compositions is by 嘿嘿视频 professor of music Pablo Ortiz. The duo is performing graduate student works on Thursday, Feb. 13 as a Shinkoskey Noon Concert, as well.

ArtAbout offers Wine Walk

2nd Friday ArtAbout, Downtown Davis, Friday Feb. 14, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., free

  • Celebrate Valentine鈥檚 Day by attending the ArtAbout with that special someone! Take a stroll through downtown, admire local art, and get to know local artists during Davis鈥 monthly ArtAbout. An average of 30 local businesses host art, and some even offer complimentary beverages and snacks for visitors to enjoy while perusing the works.
  • This month鈥檚 ArtAbout is extra special: it features the 2nd Annual Wine Walk. Participants are invited to stop by Pence Gallery to pick up a free glass and stamp card, and then find all seven tastings around town. Winos who find all seven will be entered in a drawing for a Downtown Davis gift basket.

On Sunday, Black History Month means a free family festival

Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, Sunday, Feb. 16, noon to 4 p.m, free

  • The Crocker invites you to celebrate Black History Month with 鈥渁 day of music, food, education, cultural connection, and art demonstrations.鈥 Art offerings will include an opportunity to do hands-on art presented by the Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum. Attendees can also meet artist Akinsanya Kambon, whose work is featured in the current exhibition American Expressions/African Roots: Akinsanya Kambon鈥檚 Ceramic Sculpture.

Appreciation and Adaptation: Homage to Global Textiles, 嘿嘿视频 Design Museum, Cruess Hall, Room 124, through April 18, free

  • An exhibition on world textiles opens late January. The exhibition, curated by Paul J. Smith, highlights 鈥渢raditional textiles from Africa, Asia and South America鈥 as well as 鈥渨orks by 嘿嘿视频 students鈥that are] highlighting the continuing relevance of traditional cultures and how they drive design thinking in new directions.鈥

Granville Redmond: The Eloquent Palette, Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, through Sunday, May 17

  • An exhibition of work by painter Granville Redmond will be on display at the Crocker Museum through early May. Redmond鈥檚 work depicts the natural beauty of the California landscape, primarily in oils.

  • The 嘿嘿视频 Department of Theatre and Dance is performing 鈥淧eter and the Starcatcher,鈥 an imaginative, award-winning prequel to Peter Pan. The play is co-directed by Mindy Cooper, 嘿嘿视频 professor of theatre and dance, and Olivier award winner Toby Sedgwick. Tickets are $12 for students and seniors, $17 for faculty and staff, and $18.50 for general admission.
