This week’s Shinkoskey Noon Concert features ٺƵ Lecturer in Music Bruce Chrisp on the trombone and Gabrielle Wunsch on the violin, with Jeff LaDeur on the piano. They will be performing works composed by Robert and Clara Schumann.

Also on Thursday, get tickets now for The Threepenny Opera, ٺƵ Department of Theatre and Dance, Thursday, Nov. 14 through Nov. 23, 2 p.m. or 7 p.m., $12-$18.50

The play is “...a criticism of capitalism and middle-class morality, set in a world of corruption with a score that draws upon opera, jazz and cabaret. Set in Victorian London, the musical focuses on the exploits of Macheath, an amoral criminal, who manipulates women and the law with equal dexterity.” The play contains adult themes and language. Wayne Thiebaud Exhibition, John Natsoulas Gallery, Davis, Wednesday Oct. 30 through Saturday Nov. 30, free

  • A variety of works on paper by Wayne Thiebaud are on display at the Natsoulas Gallery this month. Thiebaud, renowned artist and ٺƵ Professor Emeritus, will celebrate his 99th birthday this month. Come explore a variety of pieces, from pen to oil paint to lithograph, created by Thiebaud between 1939 and 2015.

Joomchi: Playing with Paper, Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art, Saturdays and Sundays, Saturday Nov. 2 through Sunday Dec. 1, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., free

  • The Manetti Shrem Museum invites you to join artist Steph Rue to “create a unique landscape using a traditional paper-felting technique called joomchi. We will be using hanji (Korean paper), a strong and durable material to explore a variety of ways to collage, felt and fuse paper into interesting textures.”

  • The ٺƵ Symphony Orchestra headed by music director and conductor, will perform works by Strauss, Lutosławski, and Rachmaninov. Special guest Maximilian Haft will join the Lutosławski performance of Chain II on the violin and Leyla Kabuli will join the Rachmaninov performance of Piano Concerto No. 2 on the piano.
