June 17, 11 a.m. — Millions of Americans have been vaccinated. Case rates have been falling nationally and in California. Governor Newsom has said California will lift all pandemic restrictions on June 15. So, where are we now? Is the pandemic nearly over, or is it too soon to declare victory? What precautions should we keep in place?
Join us this Thursday, June 17, to discuss these and other questions with two people who have been at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 in our region.
- Dr. Aimee Sisson has been public health officer for Yolo County since October 2020. She was previously public health officer for Placer County and served as a public health medical officer at the California Department of Public Health for more than 10 years. She also serves as an assistant professor on the volunteer clinical faculty at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ, where she teaches graduate students in public health.
- Dr. Dean Blumberg is professor of pediatrics and chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Health. His interests are in preventing and treating childhood infections, vaccine research and childhood immunization policies.
