FEB. 18: ADMAN'S MID-MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE
From the Administrative Management Group

The registration fee is $90 through Tuesday, Feb. 22, or $115 after that, through the close of registration Monday, Feb. 28, payable only by department recharge. The fees include a buffet breakfast, morning and afternoon breaks, and a sit-down lunch.

Organizers said Kathleen Passanisi, motivational speaker and humorist, will be the guest presenter for the second consecutive year, by popular demand, and will be accompanied by Annie Passanisi, her daughter, as co-presenter.
FEB. 15: REMINDER ON TRAVEL INSURANCE REGISTRATION
From Alan B. Huynh, business operations coordinator, Administrative Services and University Development Administration
In light of the recent evacuation of UC students, staff and faculty from Egypt, UCOP strongly reminds UC travelers (see note below) that registration for travel insurance is required for all business trips that involve travel outside the state of California.
NOTE: "Travelers" includes employees of the university; students, interns, residents and fellows associated with the university in connection with emergency medical programs; any other persons designated by the university while traveling at the express direction and with the approval of the university; and traveling companions.
The states the following:
The Office of Risk Services within the Financial Management Department at the UC Office of the President has arranged for UC travelers on official university business to be covered for a wide variety of accidents and incidents while away from the campus or primary workplace. Upon completion of the short "Traveler Insurance" form, UC travelers will be provided with information to use in an emergency while traveling on UC business both domestically and abroad. Registration is required for business trips out of state and to foreign countries.
The goal of this insurance is to provide protection to regents, faculty, staff or any person designated by UC while traveling at the direction and approval of UC. Coverage can also be provided to a spouse-domestic partner and dependent(s) when traveling with them.
This broad coverage includes medical care and evacuation, loss of personal property (UC employees only), extraction for political and weather related reasons, and more, at no cost to UC travelers-employees.
Here’s how it works:
You are automatically registered with “Business Travel Accident Insurance” if:
- You booked and purchased your travel using “BCD Travel” via the Connexxus portal, or
- You booked and purchased your travel using “UC Travel Center” via the Connexxus portal.
You must manually register your trip for “Business Travel Accident Insurance," using the , if:
- You booked and purchased your travel using “SWAZBIZ (Southwest Airlines)” via the Connexxus portal, or
- You did not use the Connexxus portal and worked directly with 3rd-party agencies.
NOTE: "Business Travel Accident Insurance" is specific to each trip, so every time you travel outside the state of California, that individual trip has to be registered. This registration either happens automatically if you use BCD Travel or the UC Travel Center, or when you do it manually via the .
Once the online insurance registration is complete, each traveler will receive an email confirmation through iJET.
