Antonio Flores, an East Bay Regional Parks docent, returns to the arboretum next weekend to lead another of his workshops on the Native California tradition of making flutes from elderberry.
Flores teaches how to make and play the flutes, and also talks about the culture of flute making. He also will talk about the endangered elderberry beetle.
All materials will be supplied; please bring sharpened pocketknives. All ages are invited; adults must supervise their young children. 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 146 .

SPRING PLANT SALES
The arboretum announced its schedule of spring plant sales: three on Saturday and one on Sunday, each from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Arboretum Teaching Nursery.
The season begins with the Member Sale, Saturday, March 9. Not a member? No worries 鈥 you can join at the gate!
