THE ARTS: Faculty, staff get a head start on Mondavi Center's single-event tickets

Trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis is due on the Mondavi Center stage on Oct. 9, performing Duke Ellington's <i>Such Sweet Thunder</i>, inspired by the work of William Shakespeare.

As announced in last week's Friday Update, the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts is giving faculty and staff a head start on buying single-event tickets for 2008-09, before the tickets go on sale to the general public.

"This is a chance for faculty and staff to get ahead of the rush," said Joe Martin, the center's public relations manager.

The early sales period began Aug. 20 and continues through Aug. 23. Purchases must be made in person at the Mondavi Center box office or by telephone. Besides the head start, faculty and staff receive a 10 percent discount on single-event tickets; the discount applies to all seating levels. You must have a ºÙºÙÊÓƵ e-mail address.
