The ASUCD is using music to help build community — and a green community at that! The occasion is the Music on the Green concert, a free event with two stages, from 5 to 8 p.m. May 22 at Central Park, Third and C streets, Davis.
“We hope to promote city and campus relations and environmental advocacy, by having environmentally conscious entertainers, booths for city and campus advocacy groups, and zero-waste efforts,” said Andrew Carstens, a first-year student majoring in international agriculture development, with Spanish as a minor.
“By inviting local artists, we are supporting the Davis community and decreasing the concert's overall carbon footprint,” said Carstens, who is an intern with the ASUCD’s Campus Center for the Environment.
