The new academic year is approaching, and that means our old campus poster calendars are about to come down.
New calendars with a centennial theme are expected to arrive on campus the last week of August, and departments and units are being advised that there is a new distribution system in place for 2008-09.
University Communications took care of the design, as usual. For the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Centennial, graphic artist Lisa Wade incorporated a timeline and a number of then-and-now photos from 100 years of campus history.
But University Communications is no longer handling sales and distribution. Instead, the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ bookstore is taking on those chores.
"We always received requests from students, staff and other campus community members to purchase individual copies, but we could accept only departmental orders," said Angie Malloy of University Communications.
So this year, the poster calendars will be available for sale at campus bookstores in Davis and Sacramento, for 80 cents apiece plus tax.
The bookstore's main office will handle sales to departments and units. Their cost will be 72 cents apiece plus tax, figuring in the customary 10 percent discount that the bookstore gives to departments and units.
For folded calendars, the bookstore is offering free delivery. Flat calendars must be picked up at the store due to the difficulty of transporting them easily.
Orders for folded copies must be e-mailed or faxed to the bookstore's Kelly Holt, special orders buyer.
For e-mail orders, put "ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Poster Calendar" in the subject line, and include the following information in the body of the e-mail: Department name, delivery address (building and room number), four-digit billing ID or DaFIS account number, and quantity of calendars desired. Holt's e-mail address is kgholt@ucdavis.edu.
Purchase orders should be faxed to (530) 754-7819.
