Latin American University Leaders to Discuss Pandemic, Future of International Ed

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the future of international education will be the subject of an online conversation with leaders from Latin American universities Thursday, July 16.

The session is the fifth and final in a series of live discussions with educational leaders from 13 countries and will include:

  • , rector of  in Santiago
  • , rector of  in Mexico
  • Soraya Soubhi Smaili, rector of  in Brazil

The series, “,” is co-hosted by the Institute of International Education, or IIE, and the University of California, Davis. See the series news release.  

Gary S. May, chancellor of ٺƵ, will moderate the Latin American panel, which will begin at 9 a.m. PDT (4 p.m. UTC).

The hourlong session is open to the public. and will close when seats are filled.

The series began in mid-June with an introductory global panel, and other sessions focused on Africa, Asia and Oceania, and Europe. are being posted to the series webpage as they become available.
