Davis Clinic: More space, more specialists, more family practice docs

More space and more specialists — that was the reason for an open house last June at the ٺƵ Medical Group’s Davis Clinic.

Now the clinic has more family practice physicians, as promised, and it’s holding another open house, Thursday, Oct. 29. See below for details, including a link for RSVPs.

“We are excited to show the people of Davis and surrounding communities how we are growing to serve their needs,” said Julie Freischlag, dean of the School of Medicine and vice chancellor of Human Health Sciences.

The program will afford visitors the opportunity to meet medical staff, hear short presentations and learn more about all the services that are available in one convenient location. ٺƵ employees may find the information helpful as they consider their medical plan options for 2016. See open enrollment information below.

In March, the Davis Clinic at 2660 W. Covell Blvd. expanded into 2440 W. Covell, bringing total clinic size to 33,245 square feet to accommodate additional medical staff.

The family practice team has grown from nine to 11 physicians, with another one starting Nov. 9 and one more coming Jan. 24. The clinic is accepting new adult and pediatrics patients.

During the summer, the clinic added specialties in gastroenterology, hepatology and pulmonary medicine, to go with internal medicine, obstetrics-gynecology, dermatology, allergy, rheumatology, cardiology, podiatry, general surgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, orthopedic hand surgery and sports medicine.

Starting in December, the clinic’s ob-gyn unit will start performing outpatient procedures at the Davis Surgery Center, joining ٺƵ orthopedists and podiatrists who already perform procedures there.

Other clinic services include lab and X-ray, with mammography planned for 2016; a full-service retail pharmacy (where, by the way, you can pick up mail-order-quantity prescriptions at mail-order prices); and dietitian and lactation consults.
