Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Ralph J. Hexter today (April 23) announced the appointment of Donald E. Hunt as associate vice chancellor for Enrollment Management, succeeding Walter Robinson, who retired last September after seven years in the position. Hunt will take up his new post July 1.
Hunt is coming to ºÙºÙÊÓƵ from California State University, Sacramento, where he has served as associate vice president of Enrollment and Student Services since 2015. He is a veteran of 14 years in higher education, mostly in executive positions including registrar, and whose responsibilities also have included recruitment, admissions and retention; student information systems; financial services; and building partnerships internally and externally to establish pipelines to higher education.
At ºÙºÙÊÓƵ, he will have responsibility for Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, and the Office of the University Registrar, as well as Enrollment Management Analytics, and he will provide high level administrative oversight for outreach and recruitment programs.
Provost Hexter said: “This is a critically important position, charged each year with recruiting, admitting and enrolling bright and diverse new cohorts of freshman and transfer students. Don is a strategic planner, he makes connections in the community and he can lead a complex set of departments.â€
Before Hunt joined Sacramento State, he held the following administrative positions: assistant vice president and university registrar at York University (Toronto); registrar and executive director at the University of Lethbridge (Alberta, Canada); interim associate vice president of Student Affairs at the University of Lethbridge; deputy registrar at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland); and interim director of registrar operations at Cleveland State University.
Hunt, an Army veteran, is completing an Ed.D. in educational leadership, and holds a Master of Science degree in technology management and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, both from the University of Maryland University College.
