ºÙºÙÊÓƵ faculty and staff laced up their comfortable shoes and hit the pavement last week for UC Walks, an annual event held on various dates around the UC system. On the Davis campus (May 31) and the Sacramento campus (May 17), participants had the opportunity to try out the university's new walking loops.
The Staff and Faculty Health and Well-Being Program tallied 355 walkers on the Davis campus and 432 on the Sacramento campus. The UC Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources joined most of the UC campuses in observing UC Walks on May 16, and reported a count of 450 participants at ANR facilities around the state.
UC Walks is over for this year, but the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ walking loops are here to stay: Look for the colorful medallions on the ground marking the four 1-mile routes on the Davis campus and a 1-mile loop and a half-mile loop on the Sacramento campus.
