Jared Tolla: Remnants — The Craft Center director presents works that he has crafted from “reappropriated” bits and pieces of glass, including incorrect sizes and shapes, and leftovers from completed projects. Through April 30, Craft Center Gallery. Reception, noon-1 p.m. April 24.

Liz Murray — The Craft Center’s graduating student manager presents four pieces that comprise her senior thesis collection for the textile and fashion undergraduate design degree. May 7-June 4, Craft Center Gallery.

Fashion Technology and Experimental Textiles — Kinor Jiang, visiting from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Institute of Textiles and Clothing, shares his innovative and experimental textiles. May 10–July 9, Design Museum.

18th- and 19th-Century British Satirical Posters — The posters, from the university’s Fine Arts Collection, are being presented in conjunction with modern-day illustrations in the Nelson Gallery (see separate listing for Owen Smith and Nayland Blake). Through May 23, Nelson Entryway Gallery.

A Woman’s Place: An Exhibit on the History of the Women’s Rights Movement — In celebration of the 90th anniversary of the ratification of the U.S. Constitution’s 19th amendment, in August 1920, giving women the right to vote. The exhibit features books, pamphlets, and other documents and ephemera from the Women’s History Collection and other research collections held in the University Library’s Special Collections Department. Prepared by John Sherlock of Special Collections. Spring and summer quarters, lobby, first floor, Shields Library.

First Ladies and Fashion: Style Icons on a Political Runway — Spring quarter, first floor, Shields Library.

Niu Pasifik: Urban Art from the Pacific Rim — Contemporary art from New Zealand and the Pacific Rim, from the collection of curator and educator Giles Peterson. Through June 13, C.N. Gorman Museum.

Owen Smith and Nayland Blake, one-man shows — Smith, known for his 1930s-style pulp fiction illustrations, is showing cartoon drawings on paper and in digital video format, paintings, New Yorker magazine covers and other work. Blake, who has been blogging on a near-daily basis in recent years, is presenting the first offline exhibition of his autobiographical drawings cum cartoons. His show also includes original black-and-white drawings as well as digital images, in color, on a video monitor. Through May 23, Nelson Gallery.

See What I See Around ٺƵ — Photographer Jerry Schimke presents a fanciful exploration of ٺƵ, with diverse perspectives and subject matter. Through May 28, Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center.

Youth Voices for Change — Work by Sactown Heroes, affiliated with the West Sacramento Youth Resource Coalition. The teens collaborated with ٺƵ researchers and artists for six months to create poetry, photos, comics and an interactive map with videos, documenting conditions that impact their lives and expressing their hopes for the future. Through June 20, Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center. Youth Voices for Change is a collaboration of Art of Regional Change and Healthy Youth-Healthy Regions at ٺƵ, and the West Sacramento Youth Resource Coalition.
