Wayne Thiebaud Collection — California State University, Sacramento, is showing all 150 works in its Wayne Thiebaud collection. The collection comprises works from 1948 to 2004, when two anonymous donors gave the collection to the university. Thiebaud is a professor emeritus of art at ºÙºÙÊÓƵ and a graduate of Sacramento State. Through Jan. 23, (open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday). Free admission.

African American Quilts — Quilts made by former slaves, plus 21st-century creations informed by time-honored veins of African American quilting. From the collections of Avis C. Robinson of Washington, D.C., and Sandra McPherson of Davis. The latter, a ºÙºÙÊÓƵ professor emerita of English, writes poetry that is rooted in quilting traditions.
