Please be aware the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the Sacramento Valley from Saturday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 7-11. In addition, a wind advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. to noon Saturday in advance of the warm front that is bringing moderate to heavy rain.
The forecast calls for 2 to 6 inches of rain in the Central Valley, and higher amounts moving into the hills and mountains. Previous storms have saturated the soil, so this new round of rain will increase the potential for widespread flooding of small rivers, streams and urban areas.
Low-lying areas of campus may possibly be affected. Please take appropriate precautions and report any problems with buildings or infrastructure to Facilities Management, 530-752-1655 (24 hours).
The ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Office of Emergency Management and Mission Continuity will continue to monitor the situation as it progresses.
A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. A wind advisory means that wind gusts of 40 mph and higher are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
