The 鈥檚 Sicilian-style olives are back, after being out of stock for a few months.
The olives, in Sicilian Spiced and Gourmet Garlic varieties, are available at the same 嘿嘿视频 Stores where you can also find 嘿嘿视频 olive oil, including the newly released roasted garlic olive variety.
Penna Gourmet Olives of Orland (Butte County) donated the Sicilian Spiced and Gourmet Garlic olives. Each 10-ounce jar sells for $7, with proceeds going to the Olive Center in support of its research and partnership with state鈥檚 table olive and olive oil producers.
Proceeds from olive oil sales are used for the same purpose. The extra virgin oils come in 250-mililiter bottles for $12.
The new garlic oil is made from oil donated by Corto Olive of Lodi and flavored with roasted garlic oil.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a variation that a lot of people enjoy with cooking or with finishing food off, where you want a garlic flavor,鈥 said Dan Flynn, executive director of the Olive Center, who noted that the center had received many requests for garlic oil.

First Wednesday Wine Flight
The first Wednesday of the month, May 2, brings the First Wednesday Wine Flight, this month featuring Wente Vineyards.
The wine tastings are sponsored by the Gunrock Pub and the Vinetage Aggies Wine Club and held at the pub (on the south side of the Silo), from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
鈥淣amed American Winery of the Year for 2011 by Wine Enthusiast, Wente Vineyards is this country鈥檚 oldest, continuously operated family-owned, estate grown, and sustainably farmed winery,鈥 wine flight organizers said. 鈥淔or five generations, the Wente family has been dedicated to the art of winemaking and the philosophy that the quality of the wine originates in the vineyard. 鈥

12th annual Winkler Dinner
The student group DEVO 鈥 鈥 is selling tickets for the 12th annual Winkler Dinner, a five-course meal prepared by top chefs, with each course thoughtfully paired with wine.
The wine is being donated, and the winemakers will be present to introduce their wines, the organizers said.
Live and silent auctions will accompany the dinner 鈥 and the entire event serves as a fundraiser for DEVO鈥檚 group winemaking projects and field trips to various wine regions, alumni events and student-faculty mixers, and scholarships for international winemaking internships.
This year鈥檚 Winkler Dinner, with musical accompaniment, is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in the courtyard of the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science.
Tickets are $150 each, and the organizers advise people to make their purchases early, due to limited seating. You can order or send a check to Davis Enology and Viticulture Organization, in care of the Department of Viticulture and Enology, 1 Shields Ave., Davis 95616.
