Wednesday Night Wine Flight: March 2
Yolo County's Crew Wine Co. is sending one of its crew, assistant winemaker Lacey Steffi, back to her alma mater to represent Crew at at the next : March 2.
Dan Cederquist, another alum, is the Crew winemaker — and a partner in the winery with John and Lane Guguiere.
Previously, John and Lane Guguiere and their brother and brother-in-law, Karl Guguiere, started R.H. Phillips Winery in 1983, putting out such noted labels as Toasted Head. They sold the winery in 2000, and, five years later, John and Lane started Crew Wine Co.
Wednesday Night Wine Flights are scheduled the first Wednesday of every month, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the on the south side of the . The pub partners with the in presenting the "wine flight" events. Admission is $10, and no reservations are needed.
Cheese Loves Beer III: March 5
You will have to be pretty lucky to get a place in Cheese Loves Beer: Mastering the Marriage. It was practically sold out as of Feb. 24 — but you can always check with the organizers at the to see if anyone has canceled.
This year's event, the third annual, features Charles Bamforth, Anheuser-Busch Endowed Professor of Malting and Brewing Sciences; and Moshe Rosenberg, professor and specialist, dairy engineering and technology.
The program is schduled from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in the RMI's . The cost is $55 for the general public, $45 for Friends of the RMI, and ºÙºÙÊÓƵ staff, faculty and students.
