Community talk: Building Monticello Dam. Thursday, Sept. 13, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., with questions following. At Winters Community Center, 201 Railroad Ave., Winters.

Hear Don Burbey of Solano Irrigation District describe the building of Monticello Dam in this "Creek Speak -- Community Talks on the Putah Creek Watershed" event. Co-sponsored by Putah Creek Council, Putah Creek Discovery Corridor Cooperative and the city of Winters.

Campus talk: Lethal Sound: Submarines, Sonar, and the Death of Whales. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. At the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center, ºÙºÙÊÓƵ campus.

Joel Reynolds, senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council and director of the NRDC's Marine Mammal Protection Project, will speak on the impacts of noise pollution on marine mammals and other marine species. Co-sponsored by the Environmental Law Society.

Campus talk: Immigrant and Refugee Leadership and Environmental Justice. Thursday, Oct. 25, 3:10 p.m. to 5 p.m. In Room MU II of the Memorial Union Building, ºÙºÙÊÓƵ campus.

Held in conjunction with the campus/community book project on "The Devil's Highway," this panel will be moderated by Julie Sze, director of the JMIE Environmental Justice Project. Co-sponsored by the Environmental Justice Project and the Center for the Study of Regional Change.
