Freshman assistance

Fourteen high school seniors from two high schools in Woodland will begin their freshman year here with scholarships from the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Foundation’s Russell F. and Jean H. Fiddyment Endowed Fund.

The Fiddyments’ contribution provides each of the Woodland and Pioneer high school students with a one-time award of $2,000.

ºÙºÙÊÓƵ’ Academic Preparation Programs announced that it would host a May 26 ceremony for the students, in the board room of the Woodland Joint Unified School District.

Some of them are also in the university’s Reservation for College Program, which gives students from educationally and economically disadvantaged areas the opportunity to attend ºÙºÙÊÓƵ at a defrayed cost.
