Giedt Hall Dedicated

March 12, Monday -- Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef and guests will dedicate ºÙºÙÊÓƵ' latest classroom building, Warren and Leta Giedt Hall. With two classrooms and three lecture theaters, including the 278-seat Ted and Rand Schaal Auditorium, Giedt Hall provides a state-of-the-art learning environment for students from across the campus. The 15,000 square-foot, $7.5 million building was made possible by a donation of $2.5 million from Warren Giedt, professor emeritus in mechanical and aeronautical engineering, and his late wife, Leta Giedt, and a second gift of $400,000 from alumnus and former geology lecturer Rand Schaal and his father, Ted Schaal. The dedication ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. in Giedt Hall, which is located immediately north of Kemper Hall of Engineering on Bioletti Way. Joining Vanderhoef to dedicate the building will be Enrique Lavernia, dean of the College of Engineering; Winston Ko, dean of the Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences; and Professor Giedt.
