“Global Health, California and the World” is the title of an open forum scheduled for June 8 in Sacramento.
Among the sponsors is the planning office for the proposed UC School of Global Health. Other sponsors include UC San Francisco Global Health Sciences, UC Center Sacramento and the state Department of Public Health.
Organizers said speakers will include Richard Feachem, director of the Global Health Group at UCSF and former executive director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, who will define global health and its relevance to California. Also, plans will be outlined for the UC-wide School of Global Health.
The forum is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at UC Center Sacramento, 1130 K St. People interested in attending are asked to arrange reservations with Andrew Crotto, (916) 445-5100 or andrew.crotto@ucop.edu.
