Aggie football hosts its annual on Saturday, Nov. 1 — and one group of those heroes (the ٺƵ Police Department) is handing out free game tickets to faculty and staff.
Officer Ray Holquin said the department purchased 500 tickets, and they are yours for the asking. Contact him by cell phone, (530) 601-3867 or email.
In this Big Sky Conference matchup, the Aggies will take on the Bears of Northern Colorado; kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Aggie Stadium.
The “Salute” is for law enforcement and other first responders, and servicemen and women and veterans — who will have another special day just 10 days later: Veterans Day.
Outsided the stadium, head to Aggie Tailgate Field to see a display of military vehicles, presented by the 49th Military Police Brigade, a Fairfield-based unit of the Army National Guard.
A giant flag will cover a big part of the field during the singing of the national anthem before the game. ٺƵ ROTC members will be among the flag holders, along with other servicemen and women and veterans from around the area, including other students.
During the game, ROTC members hope to be doing a lot of pushups: one for every point, every time the Aggies score!
ROTC members will also have a booth where they will display a copy of ٺƵ’ , comprising a page for each of our Gold Star Aggies — sailors and soldiers lost in war, dating back to World War I. The original book is kept in Griffin Lounge in the Memorial Union, which stands a tribute to the fallen Aggies.
