Our green metrics are tops
ٺƵ’ green metrics have once again warranted high placement in the University of Indonesia’s s.
As announced this morning (Dec. 14), ٺƵ is No. 1 in the United States (for a sixth year in a row) and fifth in the world. ٺƵ has ranked in the top 10 for 11 years.
HOLIDAY HELPING: Stuffed Bus
A Unitrans vintage double-decker bus drove out of the Davis Food Co-op parking lot Saturday (Dec. 11) with a collection of food valued at an estimated $3,000, all for the , benefitting students in need.
“It was a great showing for our fifth annual Stuff the Bus,” said Jeff Flynn, general manager of Unitrans, which co-sponsored the food drive with the Davis Food Co-op. “We are grateful for all the donations.”
Earlier, Mail Services reported collecting 1,066 pounds of food on the Davis campus, for The Pantry, in the mail unit’s 16th annual holiday Food Drive.
Global Kronos ransomware attack
ٺƵ recently became aware of the global ransomware attack on Kronos, which resulted in the company taking all of its cloud services offline worldwide. Kronos is currently used as the timekeeping system for Dining Services for approximately 250 career staff and 1,000 student employees, and the unavailability of the service will prohibit these employees from submitting timecards using the Kronos system.
Other UC campuses have also been impacted, and the Office of the President has reported the issue to authorities. In order to issue on-time paychecks to ٺƵ employees, Dining Services plans to pay career staff full-time hours for the last pay period ending in mid-December and student employees based on the average work hours recorded on their last two paychecks. This will enable employees to continue to receive income for the affected pay period. System adjustments for over- and underpayment will be reconciled in the new year. Should the service outage extend into January, Dining Services is developing an alternate time reporting process to be implemented if needed.
Update on burglary investigation
ٺƵ police reported two more vehicles have been recovered in the aftermath of a string of campus burglaries in late November.
Dixon police came across one of the vehicles, and the discovery led to the arrest of Jade Davis McGinnis on a charge of possession of stolen property, according to campus police.
The vehicle was one of two employee-owned pickups taken Nov. 27 from a west campus maintenance yard, 154 Hills Drive. The other truck is still missing: a tan, 1988 Ford F350 with dual rear wheels and a custom flatbed, as at the time of the theft, an attached trailer.
The same night, Nov. 27, police recovered a ٺƵ truck with a bucket lift that had been stolen from another west campus maintenance yard, Power and Lights at 2145 Garrod Drive.
A ٺƵ pickup stolen from the Equestrian Center the last week of November was found abandoned by Vacaville police on Dec. 7.
Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call the ٺƵ Police Department, 530-752-1727.
