The chiefs of the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Police Department and the city of Davis Police Department issued the following joint statement Thursday (May 28):
The death of George Floyd:
An entire country suffered deep wounds on the streets of Minneapolis. We are all profoundly saddened and our hearts are broken.
We want the entire Davis and ºÙºÙÊÓƵ community to know that what we saw was unacceptable and that we train and demand that our officers do much better.
Rest in peace, George Floyd.
