KVIE public television Channel 6 is ready to add a final touch to the recently concluded ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Centennial year: a half-hour program titled ºÙºÙÊÓƵ at 100.

A preview party is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center. Admission is free, but advance registration is required — because only 150 people can be accommodated. Most of those seats had already been spoken for as of midweek, when Dateline went to press.

ºÙºÙÊÓƵ at 100, being presented as part of KVIE’s ViewFinder series, is scheduled to premiere at 7 p.m. Oct. 14. Repeat showings are set for 4 p.m. Oct. 16 and 6 p.m. Oct. 18.

The program draws heavily from archived photos from the General Library’s Special Collections. ºÙºÙÊÓƵ at 100 also includes interviews with university officials and alumni.

MORE OF A GOOD THING: The came out with its first Centennial Blend olive oil last year, and now comes the 2009 bottling. It is due to be sold at the campus bookstore (Memorial Union) starting Oct. 14. On that day, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., you are invited to stop by the bookstore for free tastings, and, if you like, buy some at the special price of $10 a bottle (normally $12). Centennial Blend 2009 extra virgin olive oil combines Spanish, Greek and Italian varietals from ºÙºÙÊÓƵ trees and a number of California producers. They donated olives for the Centennial Blend, in support of the Olive Center.
