Jan. 14, 2 p.m. — At the beginning of 2022 it feels like we’ve been here before, with a new coronavirus spreading rapidly through the population. We have more knowledge about the virus and new tools such as vaccines and treatments — but we also have omicron, a new and highly infectious variant.
Joining us this Friday, Jan. 14 for a live conversation on the state of the pandemic with two experts:
- As public health officer for Yolo County, Aimee Sisson has been leading local efforts to control the COVID-19 pandemic. She was previously public health officer for Placer County and served as a public health medical officer at the California Department of Public Health for more than 10 years.
- Lorena Garcia is a professor of epidemiology at the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ School of Medicine and chair of the Graduate Group in Epidemiology. Her research focuses on health disparities and social determinants of health.
The conversation, hosted by Soterios Johnson, will be streamed live on and beginning at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14.
Questions can be submitted via Facebook and Twitter either in advance or during the show.
