March 8, Thursday -- 10:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Six women who have played prominent roles in California agriculture and their communities will be honored during the Common Threads luncheon and awards ceremony. Recognized during the event will be Jeri Hansen-Gill of the Napa Valley Vintners trade association and co-owner of Wooden Nickel Wine Company; Jane Roberti, a Plumas County cattle rancher; Evelyne Rominger, a Winters farmer; Karen Ross, president of the California Association of Winegrape Growers; Bobbie Jo Seaver, a Colusa farmer; and Carol Whiteside, founder and president of the Great Valley Center in Modesto. Mistress of ceremonies for the event will be Mary Ann Warmerdam, director of the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. The event, sponsored by ºÙºÙÊÓƵ' College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and several agricultural organizations, will be held in ºÙºÙÊÓƵ' ARC Ballroom. More information: .
