March 6-7, Friday afternoon and all day Saturday -- ºÙºÙÊÓƵ’ College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences will host its 33rd annual Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Field Day, welcoming some 3,000 FFA and 4-H high school students from California and surrounding states. It is one of the largest such competitions in the country and the only completely university student-run event of its kind in California. The FFA and 4-H students will compete in 26 different agriculturally based judging contests, including tractor driving, livestock judging, public speaking and many others. ºÙºÙÊÓƵ students from a variety of majors coordinate the contests, with faculty and staff serving as advisers. Activities take place in many locations and animal facilities on campus. Event headquarters is Room 2005 in the Plant and Environmental Sciences building near Freeborn Hall.
