Dec. 2, Thursday — Google chief economist Hal Varian will deliver a lecture, “Predicting the Present with Search Engine Data,” at 6 p.m. in Ballroom C of the ٺƵ Conference Center.
Varian, a professor emeritus at UC Berkeley, started at Google in 2002 and has been involved in many aspects of the company, including auction design, econometric analysis, finance, corporate strategy and public policy.
His talk is sponsored by the Levine Family Fund, the Graduate School of Management, Department of Economics and the Institute of Governmental Affairs. It is free and open to the public. RSVPs are required and must be made by Nov. 23 at rsvp@gsm.ucdavis.edu.
