Jan. 8-12, Tuesday through Saturday -- Approximately 1,600 hobbyists and professional beekeepers and honey producers, as well as invited research scientists from abroad, are expected to gather in Sacramento for the 2008 National Beekeeping Conference. The four-day meeting, the first of its kind in the industry, is a joint gathering of the American Honey Producers Association, American Beekeeping Federation, American Association of Professional Apiculturists and the Apiary Inspectors of America. A highlight of the meeting will be a Jan. 10 visit to ºÙºÙÊÓƵ for a tour of the Harry Laidlaw Jr. Honey Bee Research Facility, followed by a dinner. The conference, to be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento, will also feature research and industry updates, workshops and a trade show.
