Mini-Symposium on SARS

May 18, Tuesday -- The latest research on the virus that causes Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) will be the topic of two talks by leading scientists. Kathryn V. Holmes of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver will discuss "Coronaviruses: Molecular Biology, Pathogenesis and Evolution." Kanta Subbarao of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Bethesda, Md., will talk about "Animal Models for SARS." The talks will begin at 3 p.m. in the Studio Theatre of Mondavi Center on the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ campus and will be followed by a reception. The mini-symposium is sponsored by the Murray B. Gardner Research Seminar Fund, the Center for Comparative Medicine, Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, and the Division of Infectious Diseases.
