Get ready for another head start on Mondavi Center tickets: Wednesday and Thursday (Aug. 8 and 9). The head start is for staff, faculty and students, and the tickets are single-event tickets for the 2012-13 season, including two more “just added” shows: B.B. King and Arlo Guthrie.
The general public can buy single-event tickets starting next Friday, Aug. 10. The Pick 3 package is also available, providing a 10 percent discount on tickets for three or more events.
As always, staff and faculty receive a 10 percent discount on single-event tickets (20 percent on Pick 3), and students receive a 50 percent discount.
King’s return to Jackson Hall is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4. He started recording in the late 1940s, became the King of the Blues — and, after all this time, continues to sing and play with relentless passion, noted as having one of world’s most readily identified guitar styles.
Guthrie is set to perform in Jackson Hall at 8 p.m. Friday, April 19, on his tour called Here Comes the Kid. As the "kid" folk singer has done throughout his career, he honors his father, the late Woody Guthrie, in song and story.
The Guthrie tour coincides with the 100th anniversary of Woody Guthrie’s birth (born 1912), and celebrates his immeasurable contributions to the landscape of American folk music.
The Mondavi Center’s 10th anniversary season, beginning Sept. 18, features classical music legends, jazz greats, American icons, and the best in theatre, dance, circus and more.
