New Chancellor Holds First Fall Convocation

Linda Katehi will host her first Fall Convocation as chancellor of ºÙºÙÊÓƵ on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts on campus.

The theme of the gathering, which traditionally marks the start of the academic year, is "ºÙºÙÊÓƵ' Sustainable and Transformative Second Century." The campus recently celebrated its centennial.

Katehi, who became chancellor in August, will be joined at the podium by Robert Powell, chair of the Academic Senate, and Clare Hasler, executive director of the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science.

Kevin Johnson, dean of the School of Law, will serve as master of ceremonies. Performing will be the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Symphony Orchestra and Teresa Tam, a soprano and ºÙºÙÊÓƵ alumna.

Immediately after the program, an outdoor reception will include an appearance by the Cal Aggie Marching Band-uh.

The formal program is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. ºÙºÙÊÓƵ will also offer a live webcast of the event from the campus’s home page at .
