ORG CHART: Agee in Enrollment, May in Big West

Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Mary Croughan is pleased to announce that Deborah Agee has been appointed interim associate vice chancellor for Enrollment Management, effective Tuesday (July 6). She succeeds Donald E. Hunt, who served ٺƵ as AVC of Enrollment Management for the past two years and has assumed a position at North Carolina State University.

Agee, who has served as executive director of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships at ٺƵ since 2014, brings to her new role a background of 32 years working in multiple positions in higher education finance. She has expertise in strategy and planning, policy and compliance, and team leadership. Immediately before coming to ٺƵ, she served as assistant director of the Office of Student Financial Services at University of Texas, Austin.

Agee holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a master’s degree in public administration from Texas Tech Center for Public Service.

“It means a great deal to me to have a career supporting higher education and helping students access college,” Agee said. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue this work in leading our office of Enrollment Management.”

As AVC for Enrollment Management, Agee will have responsibility for Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, and the Office of the University Registrar, as well as Enrollment Management Analytics. She will also provide high-level administrative oversight for outreach and recruitment programs.

“This is a critically important, multifaceted, and challenging role,” said Provost Croughan. “We are very fortunate to have someone with Deborah’s extensive experience and leadership skills serve in this position.” Recruitment for a permanent AVC will begin later this year.

Chancellor Gary S. May has moved up to chair-elect of the Board of Governors of the Big West Conference, in which a majority of Aggie athletics teams compete.

The board voted during its spring meeting to install May as chair-elect. He will become the chair on July 1, 2022, succeeding Framroze M. Virjee, president of California State University, Fullerton, whose term has just begun.

“Fram Virjee and Gary May represent the board’s strong commitment to the ongoing improvement of the Big West Conference and steadfast support for creating championship experiences for student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans alike,” Commissioner Dan Butterly said in a .
