RECREATION: Try Before You Buy at the ARC; ٺƵ Night with the Kings

Try Before You Buy

Try it, you might like it! So says Campus Recreation, which starts every quarter with a Try Before You Buy promotion at the Activities and Recreation Center.

The winter quarter’s Try Before You Buy is scheduled from Jan. 2 to 9, during which time students, faculty, staff, alumni, retirees and others are given free access to the ARC and all classes.

“Try out any or all of our comprehensive group exercise classes, including cycling, yoga, Pilates, step and more,” officials said in Campus Rec’s e-mail newsletter for December. “Or try one of our instructional classes in martial arts or dance, including ballet, ballroom, belly, breaking, hip-hop, lyrical hip-hop, popping, salsa.”

Also during winter quarter, Campus Rec plans to continue its highly popular muay Thai martial arts class.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a new offering this winter quarter, with a preview day set for Jan. 12.

ARC MEMBERSHIP: Memberships for faculty, staff, alumni and retirees are priced as low as $28 per month (on an annual contract), with no enrollment or processing fees. Also, faculty and staff may elect the convenience of payroll deduction.

Members receive complete access to the region’s premier fitness facility, as well as free access to the Recreation and Hickey swimming pools, and discounts on all Campus Rec programming.

Students receive ARC access at no charge.

RECREATION GUIDE: Campus Rec no longer prints its thick quarterly catalog. Instead, the Recreation Guide lives on in abbreviated form in print, and everything from the old catalog is now available on the Campus Rec Web site: ; look under Programs, and click on a category that interests you, then click through to more information.
