Need to zip around in a car for an hour or two or a day or two? Mary Maffly, transportation demand and marketing coordinator for Transportation and Parking Services, or TAPS, shows how easy it is with a Zipcard. Wave it over the card reader in a Zipcar’s windshield, and a Zipcar computer sends an electronic signal to let you in—provided you have made an online reservation. The international car-sharing company recently launched its ºÙºÙÊÓƵ operation with eight cars: four in the parking lot in front of the Activities and Recreation Center, two in the parking lot next to the Silo and two on the Mrak Hall circle. Anyone with a ºÙºÙÊÓƵ e-mail address—including students 18 and up—can sign up for membership. The rental fee is as little as $8 per hour or $66 per day weekdays, including gas, insurance and parking (on campus). More information: .
