April is always a good time to bring your children to work, what with most departments setting up displays and demonstrations for Picnic Day. The week after brings Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work, or TODS, when many departments invite your children to come for a visit, often to see the same displays and demonstrations from Picnic Day.
This year’s TODS is set for April 22, for ages 8 to 18. The Chancellor’s Child Care Advisory Committee is coordinating the activities — and departments still have time to sign up. To do so, send an e-mail to worklife@ucdavis.edu. Ideas and planning tips are available online: .
And, whether you bring your children to work on April 22 or not, you may be interested in a free program that day: Mom-in-Chief author Jamie Woolfe, speaking on “Leadership in Parenting and Finding Your ‘Style.’â€
The talk, presented by Staff Development and Professional Services as part of the WorkLife Brown Bag Series, is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. in the Cabernet Room at the Silo, with no reservations needed.
ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
Bike Barn — Learn how to repair a flat tire at one of the nation’s busiest bicycle repair shops
Genome Center — Learn about DNA, and build DNA models out of Legos.
