Through October 31, Wednesday -- If Halloween is a night to release your inner thespian and play the role of a lifetime, the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Department of Theatre and Dance wants to help you look the part.
A stately captain's outfit from "HMS Pinafore," a garish frilly dress from "The Rocky Horror Show," or a set of rags worn by the poor citizens of "Urinetown" are just some of the many costumes that the department is renting out from shows past for Halloween.
Many of the costumes have been designed by theatre and dance faculty and students and worn by the actors on stage. Jewelry, accessories and shoes are on the rental block, too.
Weekly rental fees range from $2.50 for a hat to $120 for a full period costume, with a 50 percent discount for ºÙºÙÊÓƵ students, faculty, staff and alumni. Renters also pay a $15 dry cleaning fee for clothing items and agree to replace damaged costumes or accessories.
All proceeds benefit the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Department of Theatre and Dance, known for its embrace and development of contemporary theater.
To make an appointment to view and rent costumes, contact Roxanne Femling at (530) 752-0740 or rcfemling@ucdavis.edu. Some costumes are also available for sale.
