ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Fall Athletes Are Playoff-Bound

Two teams of Aggies are headed for postseason play, and a third looks likely. The ºÙºÙÊÓƵ men’s soccer team won the Big West Championship last week, clinching an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament. The university’s women’s volleyball team will head to its own Big West tournament next week following the completion of regular season play; . Meanwhile, the Aggie football team is likely to make the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision, or FCS, playoffs — the team currently sits in fourth place and is looking forward to this weekend’s Causeway Classic at Sacramento State, followed by the FCS Selection Show the following day.

Men’s soccer

The men’s soccer team will jump into NCAA tournament play Thursday (Nov. 21) with a . The game will be played at San Diego and is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.

The Aggies earned their place in the tournament by clinching one of the 22 automatic bids through a 2-0 .
 
This will mark the Aggies' fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament at the Division I level, with all four under the leadership of Head Coach Dwayne Shaffer. ºÙºÙÊÓƵ' last appearance came in 2019, when they hosted Louisville in the second round.
  
The winner of Thursday's clash will advance to face Duke in Durham, N.C., on Sunday (Nov. 24).

Women’s volleyball

The volleyball team has two more regular season matchups, both are at home: 6 p.m. Thursday against UC Santa Barbara and 2 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 23) against Cal Poly. The team will have a few days to rest before heading to Irvine for the Big West Tournament, which is scheduled for Nov. 27, 29 and 30. Seeds for that tournament have not been determined, but .

Football

Despite coming up short against Montana State last weekend, ºÙºÙÊÓƵ can still earn a share of the Big Sky Championship with a win over Sacramento State next weekend and a loss for Montana State against Montana.

The Aggies, currently second place in the Big Sky Conference, will face off against the Hornets Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
