The ٺƵ School of Education will host the first Capitol-area Equity Summit to examine “racialized expectations, achievement and equity in today’s schools” on Saturday, March 20, at the ٺƵ Conference Center.
The daylong event starts at 8:30 a.m. and will focus on closing the achievement gap, social and juvenile justice, health equity and youth empowerment. The goal is to create a "regional equity consortium" and an action agenda for local schools and communities. Registration is $60 per person and can be completed online at .
Pedro Noguera, a professor in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development at New York University, will deliver the keynote address.
