Updated March 9 to add a surprise honor from the CASE District VII conference held March 4-7 in San Francisco: the selection of a multimedia story from the Office of Strategic Communications, as a district finalist for the CASE global platinum award for Best Article of the Year. “Small Towns, Big Flood Waters,” by Kat Kerlin and Joe Proudman, will now vie for the platinum with other finalists from around the world.
ٺƵ earned three times more awards than any other university in a recent set of honors for communications and development projects.
The 34 , given by the arm of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, or CASE, that , were announced in late January.
“These honors are a testament to the tireless work being done here at ٺƵ to ensure the university has the resources and platform it needs to continue to make the world a better place,” said Shaun Keister, vice chancellor of Development and Alumni Relations. “I’m so glad CASE is continuing to recognize our efforts.”
It’s an increase over last year, when ٺƵ earned 21 Awards of Excellence from CASE District VII. As with last year, one project earned a Grand Gold, an extra honor that judges can give to projects that stand above the rest.
It went to the event in May that combined ٺƵ’ celebration of College Signing Day with the 11th annual SAYS Summit College Day, celebrating high schoolers and transfer students — especially those from low-income, underrepresented and first-generation college-going backgrounds — who have committed to pursuing higher education. More than 850 students from 21 schools attended the event. See recap video above.
