We write with an update on campus security in response to questions arising from a distributed by the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Police Department on Oct. 5.
Although the incident reportedly took place on Sept. 28, the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Police Department was notified on Oct. 4 by the Santa Rosa Police Department that the incident took place on the ºÙºÙÊÓƵ campus. ºÙºÙÊÓƵ Police confirmed that the incident occurred on campus, and the Clery notice was issued shortly thereafter.
While the investigation is still ongoing and the details remain confidential, we are enhancing safety services to support our students, staff, faculty and visitors. These services include additional foot patrols by campus police and other security personnel. We are upgrading lighting in poorly lit areas based on recommendations from a campus safety committee formed in June and from students, faculty and staff on annual lighting walks. We are monitoring and increasing hours and services in the program. We also encourage the community to review campus .
