Vet School Hosts Horse Day symposium

* Oct. 13 and 14, Saturday and Sunday -- The Department of Animal Science welcomes horse owners and enthusiasts to ºÙºÙÊÓƵ' 16th annual Horse Day Symposium and a farrier workshop. On Oct. 13, topics will include care of horses, training and management, tax tips for horse owners, and the horse industry. Tours of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and the Center for Equine Health also will be available. The farrier workshop, run by ºÙºÙÊÓƵ farrier Kirk Adkins, will be held on Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The workshop will include lectures and a laboratory session with a shoeing demonstration. Registration fee for the symposium is $20 up to Oct. 5 and $25 at the door. Registration fees for the farrier workshop are $50 for lectures only or $150 for lectures plus laboratory.
