New Poster Calendars Celebrate Eggheads and Other Arts

As the fall approaches, it’s time for another yearly tradition: putting up a new poster calendar for the academic year. The 2024-25 poster calendars, featuring key dates from September through August, are now available from �ٺ��Ƶ Stores.

This year’s calendar continues the Year of the Egghead celebration with prominent illustrations by Steven Noble ’90, set against colorful backdrops. The arts are also highlighted through key exhibition and performance dates listed at the bottom of the calendar.

New Poster Calendars Hit Stores

A new �ٺ��Ƶ poster calendar is on shelves today (Aug. 24) at �ٺ��Ƶ Stores, just in time for the new academic year. As always, the 36-by-24-inch calendars include important academic dates like those of final exams, plus commencements and university holidays. New this year is a wider scope for cultural heritage months: The calendar includes dates that are not �ٺ��Ƶ-specific, but may be observed by Aggies, like Women’s History Month (March), Arab American Heritage Month (April) and more.

NEWS BRIEFS: Stebbins Closed Again Amid High Temps

As planned, �ٺ��Ƶ Natural Reserves officials closed the Stebbins Cold Canyon trails as the weekend came to an end, seeking to protect hikers from heat-related illness as temperatures soar to around 100 degrees all week.

Officials also closed the trails last Monday through Friday (July 16-20) after the prior weekend saw two hikers having to be rescued after suffering heat stroke. Check the Stebbins Cold Canyon website to see the latest trail advisories.

NEWS BRIEFS: Emergency Drill Set for Saturday on Campus

�ٺ��Ƶ will stage a full-scale emergency exercise this Saturday (Aug. 27), summoning police and fire personnel and others to deal with an “active shooter” incident. Activity will be centered in the area of Dutton Hall, between the Quad and A Street on the east side of campus close to downtown.
