Vice Chancellor of Research to Become Provost at University of South Florida

�ٺ��Ƶ Vice Chancellor of Research Prasant Mohapatra has accepted the position of provost and executive vice president of academic affairs at the University of South Florida starting March 1.

Following a nationwide search, �ٺ��Ƶ Chancellor Gary S. May and University of California General Counsel Charles F. Robinson have selected Michael F. Sweeney to serve as chief campus counsel. University of California President Janet Napolitano approved the selection, which is effective as of April 1, 2018.

The University of California, Davis, has informed the city of Davis that it will end the agreement for shared management of the campus and city fire departments. �ٺ��Ƶ Fire Chief Nathan Trauernicht has led both since Jan. 1, 2014.

Kelly Ratliff, �ٺ��Ƶ’ interim lead for Finance, Operations and Administration, gave formal notice of the decision to end the agreement in a Feb. 1 letter to City Manager Dirk Brazil.
