The Mandela Fellows Are Back (Virtually)

Mandela Fellows are 鈥渞eturning鈥� to 嘿嘿视频! Thirty young African leaders from 20 countries will participate in public management training that the fellows will then put to use in their homelands.

嘿嘿视频 had planned to host its fifth cohort of fellows a year ago, until the pandemic forced the program鈥檚 cancellation. This summer鈥檚 program, which starts Monday (June 21), will be virtual.

Of the two million acres of redwood trees in California prior to the Gold Rush, 95 percent of those old-growth forests no longer exist, primarily due to clear-cutting. CBS News鈥� Sunday Morning recently featured distinguished professor David Neale and his research team, along with the Save the Redwoods League.

Neale is sequencing the genome of the Coast redwood tree to help preserve future populations.
