Academic Senate Announces 2016 Awards

The Davis Division of the Academic Senate is honoring its own with annual awards for Distinguished Scholarly Public Service, Distinguished Teaching and Faculty Research Lecture.

The lecture award, the senate’s highest accolade, goes to Professor Donald Strong of the Department of Evolution and Ecology and the Bodega Marine Laboratory. He is widely regarded for his work on biodiversity, competition and food webs, with a particular emphasis on interactions between plants and insects that feed on them.

Amid “Envision �ٺ��Ƶ” last week and four days before “Reimagining Our Work,” Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi used her Feb. 25 State of the Campus address to tie all the forecasting and thinking together, as part of her vision of �ٺ��Ƶ as the University of the 21st Century.

Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi gives her State of the Campus address to the Academic Senate’s Representative Assembly, this Thursday (Feb. 25).

The meeting, open to the public, is scheduled to begin at 2:10 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the Student Community Center. Katehi’s address is the first item on the agenda.
