$45,000 Awarded in Staff Scholarships, Citations of Excellence

Applications Open for Staff Emergency Fund

With a $3,000 donation from Staff Assembly last week, the Staff Emergency Fund met its initial goal of $30,000. Fundraising continues, but, with the first $30,000 on hand, the fund today (Dec. 8) began accepting applications for grants of up to $1,000.

Staff Engagement Survey Results Ours to Own

The best way to get the most out of our staff engagement survey results is for all of us to own them, Staff Assembly and Human Resources leaders said at last week’s All-Staff Town Hall.

Brenda Rebman, chief HR officer, noted the 2017 survey results show �ٺ��Ƶ staff engagement trending upward from the first two times the survey was administered (in 2012 and 2015) — only a point or two, she acknowledged, “but it’s still trending upwards (and) going in the right direction.” Still, she said, there is always room for improvement.

�ٺ��Ƶ is known for its beer program, and some very famous beer mascots made another visit to campus last week. The Budweiser Clydesdales made the rounds through campus and downtown Davis, delivering cases of beer to restaurants and bars and The Pavilion, amid a men's and women's basketball doubleheader, to celebrate the anniversary of the end of Prohibition.

An All-Staff Town Hall is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 14, to discuss the �ٺ��Ƶ-specific results from the systemwide staff engagement survey administered earlier this year.

Besides the survey results, the agenda includes response and next steps, and a question-and-answer session.
